Grades 2-6: You are singing in the choir for Mass on Tuesday, November 26 at 8:00 am. Please come to the church at 7:30 am to rehearse.

Week 14

All grades: Please continue memorizing all Christmas music. The Christmas concert takes place on Thursday, Dec. 19.
3/4 Grades: You sing at Mass on Friday, Nov. 22 at 8:00 am. Please be in the church at 7:30 am to rehearse.
5/6 Grades: Continue to bring your recorder to school weekly. Recorders must be purchased (Murphy's Music, 940 W. Airport Freeway, Irving, TX 75062) or you may bring in a signed parental note stating the need to be issued a school recorder. (School recorders must be returned in good condition at the end of the school year.)

2nd and 5th Grades: You sing at Mass on Friday, November 15. Please come to the church at 7:30 am to rehearse.
5th Grade: Please bring your recorders to class weekly. If you are unable to purchase a recorder from Murphy's Music in Irving (940 W. Airport Freeway, Irving, 75062) because of financial hardship (the recorders cost about $10), please bring in a written note signed by a parent stating this. You will then be issued a school recorder, which must be returned at the end of the school year.
All Grades: Please continue memorizing your Christmas music. Thank you!

Week 12

Sunday, Nov. 3 at 11:00 am at St. Luke's is All-School Mass. If you are interested in singing in the choir for this Mass, please be in the choir loft at 10:30 am.

5/6 Grades: By this time you should already have had, or  recently have purchased, a recorder for music class. (Recorders can be purchased at Murphy's Music, 940 W. Airport Freeway, Irving, 75062. The cost of the student recorder is approximately $10.) If purchasing a recorder is a hardship for you, please bring in a signed note from your parent stating this.

All Grades: If I have given you music/lyrics to take home in order to start memorizing for the Christmas Pageant, please take the time to memorize. Thank you!

Note the location of the prayer table on the right, as well as the cleared floor. Also, please erase whatever you have written on the whiteboard.

Week 2

Thank you to all the students for working hard in music class - and hopefully you all had some fun, too! Everybody: practice your solfege with hand signals (do re mi fa so la ti do). Some of you brought home sheets with the solfege syllables and signals - tape these to a wall and practice in your spare time.
3/4 Graders: you are singing at the 8:00 a.m. Mass on Friday, August 30th. Please be at the church by 7:30 a.m. that morning for practice. Thank you!

Welcome to a new school year!

Hello Friends! I am very happy to be the new music teacher at St. Luke School. I am looking forward to teaching your children as much as I can about singing and musicianship, and I look forward to learning from them as well.

8th Grade: Friday, August 23, the 8th graders will be singing the school Mass, which means they need to arrive at the church for a 7:30 a.m. rehearsal.
